Markdown editor
Ask your agent to open a doc and it appears beside its own terminal. Rendered, editable, one panel away from the shard doing the work.
Your agent can open a doc for you. crystl markdown show docs/spec.md (or crystl edit) surfaces that file in the side panel and switches it to markdown mode, so an agent about to touch the renderer can pull up the architecture spec beside its own terminal. You both read the same rendered page, and the context stays where the work is. Just ask: "show me the spec you're working from."
You can drive it yourself too. The markdown editor shares the slide-out panel with the workbench. Flip the toggle to switch between your task board and a rendered, editable document. Pick any .md in the project from the file dropdown, read it formatted, edit in place, and hit save. Specs, plans, WORKBENCH.md, a README, all one click from the shard you're working in, so you're never alt-tabbing to another app to check the doc your agent needs.
Why it matters
Agents open docs for you
Ask your agent for a file and it surfaces in the editor (crystl markdown show docs/spec.md) beside the terminal that asked for it. Free on every tier.
Rendered + editable, in-panel
Read markdown formatted (headings, lists, quotes, code) and edit it in place. It shares the slide-out with the workbench, one toggle apart.
Any doc, one dropdown
Pick any .md in the project from the file dropdown (spec, plan, README, WORKBENCH.md), read it, edit it, and save without leaving the shard.
Still just the files
Plain .md on disk at the project root, no private database. Commit it, hand-edit it, diff it; the editor round-trips losslessly.

See what every agent is doing at a glance.
Agent Activity Panel
One live view of every agent across all your gems: who's working, who's idle, and where tokens are going.

Summon a single hero as a shard (its own agent, model, and persona) without a quest party.
History Navigator
Browse, jump through, and search every session: conversation and tool calls.
Token Tracking
Track token burn per shard, estimate turns left, and reclaim context window by disabling heavy plugins and skills.
Workbench
A slide-out task list in every project, backed by a WORKBENCH.md the agent reads and writes with you.
Prompt Integration
Facet Inserts give you one-click access to saved prompts, commands, and shortcuts.

Skills Library
Browse and import agentic skills that teach agents like Claude Code or Codex new tricks: code review, testing, deployment, and more.
Cavrn
The terminal as structured data: every turn, tool call, result, and table captured as agent-readable metadata. Drawn fast on the GPU with Metal.
Remote Development
Full crystl integration over SSH: approval panels, file relay, and click-to-open on remote machines.
Open Models
Run open models locally or hosted, orchestrate them with frontier agents, and cut token costs.
Agent Orchestration
One agent spawns, supervises, and merges the work of many: a control room for a team of coding agents.
crystl quest
Assemble a party of specialized agents. Each brings unique skills, coordinates in shared chat, and executes in parallel.
Screenshot Bar
Drag recent screenshots into the terminal. Spotlight-powered, always up to date.
