Markdown editor
A markdown editor built into the terminal. Open any doc in a side panel next to your agent — rendered and editable — and toggle between it and the workbench without leaving the window.
Every gem has a markdown editor in the same slide-out panel as the workbench — flip the toggle to switch between your task board and a rendered, editable document. Pick any .md in the project from the file dropdown, read it formatted, edit in place, and hit save. Specs, plans, WORKBENCH.md, a README — all one click from the shard you're working in, so you're never alt-tabbing to another app to check the doc your agent needs.
The point is the doc and the agent live in the same window. Your agent can open a doc for you from the command line — crystl markdown show docs/spec.md (or crystl edit) surfaces the file in the panel and switches it to markdown mode. So an agent about to touch the renderer can pull up the architecture spec beside its own terminal, you both read the same rendered page, and the context stays where the work is.
Why it matters
Rendered + editable, in-panel
Read markdown formatted — headings, lists, quotes, code — and edit it in place. It shares the slide-out with the workbench, one toggle apart.
Any doc, one dropdown
Pick any .md in the project from the file dropdown — spec, plan, README, WORKBENCH.md — read it, edit it, and save without leaving the shard.
Agents open docs for you
An agent can surface a file in the editor from the CLI — crystl markdown show docs/spec.md — so the doc it needs shows up beside its own terminal. Free on every tier.
Still just the files
Plain .md on disk at the project root — no private database. Commit it, hand-edit it, diff it; the editor round-trips losslessly.
