My terminal says command not found: crystl
Launch crystl and let it install the command. It checks its link at /usr/local/bin/crystl on every launch and writes it itself, silently when it’s allowed to. If the write needs your admin password, crystl may offer instead: a small card, one time, with an install button. Accept it and open a new terminal. If you keep notifications off, the card never appears, so use Settings.
Never saw a card, or dismissed it? Install it yourself, from either place:
- settings, general > terminal, the CRYSTL CLI section, which also tells you what’s currently at that path.
- Help → install command line tool…, which runs the same thing.
If something else owns /usr/local/bin/crystl, crystl won’t overwrite it; the button reads how to fix and explains what’s there. And in a pinch you can run the binary straight out of the app, at Contents/Helpers/crystl inside Crystl.app, wherever you installed it (/Applications/Crystl.app/Contents/Helpers/crystl if that’s where it is). Note that agents inside your local shards have the command either way, so this only affects terminals outside crystl. Full detail in the CLI setup guide.
